John J McNally III assumed duties as the Vice President for Enterprise Growth for Capstone Corporation in December 2003 following two years of service as the Director of the Tidewater Operations Center. His current responsibilities include developing and implementing plans and actions to support Capstone’s strategic growth goals, identifying and developing strategic areas of influence, and assisting enterprise management at all levels with business development, capture, and proposal efforts.
Born in Webster, Massachusetts, Mr. McNally graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1975 and subsequently served as a personnel officer in the United States Army for twenty-six years, retiring as a Colonel in 2001. He commanded five times at the company, battalion, and group level in Europe, Training and Doctrine Command, Pacific Command, and in XVIII Airborne Corps. He last commanded the 18th Personnel Group, XVIII Airborne Corps, where he was responsible for human resource and administrative support to over 88,000 soldiers plus their family members. Mr. McNally also served at the Department of the Army level and as a Director for Manpower and Personnel for a Unified Command (United States Joint Forces Command). While in the service, he completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University in 1984. Mr. McNally currently serves as the Vice President for Enterprise Growth, responsible for managing corporate growth programs and policies. Under his leadership, Capstone has grown from $12M in annual revenues in 2003 to over $45M in 2008.
In August, 2001, Mr. McNally was hired by Capstone Corporation to manage its business operations in the Tidewater Operations Center, located in Virginia Beach, VA. His two years in this role were highlighted by two significant accomplishments. First, he raised the annual revenues of the Operations Center from $1.5 Million to over $8 Million. Second, he was instrumental in effecting the transition of Capstone from an 8(a) Company to a credible solutions provider in the Homeland Security/Defense, Military Operations and Information Technology functional competencies.
Mr. McNally is married to the former Barbara Piehl and has two children: Jennifer Brady, a school teacher married to Mr. Michael Brady, and John, a Petty Officer in the United States Coast Guard.
