Capstone on Winning Team for Fleet Assistance and Shipboard Training (FAST) 2010 Contract
(Dec 09) On December 9, 2009, the Department of Navy announced the award of the FAST 2010 contract to Team CACI, which includes Capstone Corporation. This contract will require Capstone to provide logistics, inventory and financial subject matter expertise related to automated supply systems and software to provide on-site assistance, implementation and training; formal training; problem solving analysis; and database validation/correction/reconciliation management. This support will be provided to the staffs, units and subordinate commands of Navy Support Systems Command; Atlantic and Pacific Fleet Forces Command and Type Commanders; Atlantic and Pacific Marine Corps Forces Commands; and a variety of other Navy and Marine Corps Commands. This work starts on January 1, 2009 and will be managed by Bob Brich, Director, Mission Systems Division.
Capstone on Winning Team to Support United States Forces Korea
(Jul 2009) On July 2, 2009, the Government awarded Team Booz Allen Hamilton, of which Capstone is a member, a multi-award Indefinite Quality, Indefinite Quantity contract to provide professional services for analysis, planning, training, logistics, transformation, program and project management and knowledge management support services in support of Headquarters, United States Forces Korea (USFK). Specific tasks to be completed include providing assistance and advisory services to the command and staff; supporting USFK transformation initiatives; supporting theater exercises and simulations; conducting policy, planning and strategy analysis; developing knowledge management capabilities; supporting community outreach programs; and providing general and administrative support. This is a major win for capstone in that it introduces our company and its capabilities to not only a new customer, but also to a new theater of operations. Bob Brich, Capstone’s Director of Mission Systems Division, will manage Capstone’s efforts to support this contract.
Capstone on Winning Team to Provide US Joint Forces Command Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Directorate with Project Support
(Jun 09) Capstone is a member of the Northrop Grumman Information Systems Team awarded a contract to conduct studies, develop concepts, conduct analysis and research, develop models and simulations, conduct technical assessments, and perform other related tasks to support Department of Defense Joint Experiments and Technology Demonstrations to support Combatant Commander and warfighter requirements. These tasks will support the US Joint Forces Command’s mission to lead the overarching Department of Defense concept development and experimentation efforts to craft a military force in which combatant commanders, military services, and multinational partners work in concert to develop new concepts and prototypes for waging war. Mr. Bob Brich, Director, Missions Systems Support will lead this effort.
Capstone Awarded Contract to Continue Providing Protocol Services to Supreme Allied Command-Transformation
( Dec 08) On December 15, 2008, Capstone was awarded a new contract to continue providing protocol support services in support of the Commander, Supreme Allied Commander-Transformation, the NATO Headquarters located in Norfolk, VA. Capstone was initially awarded this contract three years ago, and won a competitive contract to continue this support for another five years. Capstone is responsible for supporting all protocol activities in support of the Command both here in the United States and in support of NATO functions overseas. Bob Brich, Director of Missions Systems Support, manages this effort.
Capstone Awarded Prime Contract to Provide Facility Asset Validation and Asset Management Services for Naval District of Washington
(Sep 08) On September 16, 2008, Capstone was awarded a new task Order under its Seaporte Prime Contract to provide facility asset validation and asset management services in support of the Commander, Naval District of Washington. Capstone will provide a Program Manager and eighteen employees (six three-man teams) to execute the following requirements: Develop facility requirements for organizations requesting or occupying space within Naval District of Washington spaces; develop and validate space utilization data at the floor/room level; conduct routine space management audits; and develop the Naval District Washington Regional Integration Plan and CNIC Global Shore Infrastructure Plan. Capstone’s teams will support the following Navy installations that comprise the Naval District Washington: Washington Navy Yard; Anacostia Annex; National Maritime Intelligence Center; Naval Research Laboratory; Potomac Annex; Naval Observatory; National Naval Medical Center; NSF Thurmont; NSWC Carderock Division; Arlington Service Center; NSWC Indian Head Division; NSWC Dahlgren Division; Naval Air Facility Washington; NRC Solomons Island; NAS Patuxent River; Us Naval Academy; and Naval Station Annapolis. This contract will be managed by Mr. Don McMillian, Capstone’s Vice President for Military/Civil Operations.
Capstone Corporation Awarded Contract to Provide Personnel Security Screening Program (PSSP)/Security Interviewers for U.S. Army Recruiting Command
(Aug 08) On August 16, Capstone was awarded a subcontract by American Systems Corporation to provide Personnel Security Screening Program/Security Interviewers in support of the U.S Army Recruiting Command. Capstone will be providing interviewers at Military Entrance Processing Centers located in Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Dallas, San Antonio and Chicago. Capstone’s interviewers will conduct security clearance interviews and prepare security clearance packets for new recruits entering the Armed Forces of the United States. This contract will be managed by Bob Brich, the Director, Mission Systems Division.
Capstone Added to Northrop Grumman Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Support Services (CEOss) Contract in Support of the Marine Corps Systems Command
(Aug 08) Capstone Corporation was approved by the Government to join the Northrop Grumman CEOss Team during the 2008 “open season” where CEOss Prime Contractors add and delete teammates from their Teams. This contract will allow Capstone to compete for work in support of the Marine Corps Systems Command performing engineering and scientific services. These services include information technology, professional engineering, management and business improvement services. This contract award is significant to capstone in that it represents our first contract award in support of the U.S. marine Corps and provides access to a new market. This contract will be managed by Bob Brich, Director, Mission Systems Division.
Capstone Joins Raytheon’s Warrior Training Alliance to Support the Army’s Program Executive Office, Simulations, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI)
(Feb 08) The Army’s PEO STRI awarded a single award, task order, IDIQ contract to Raytheon’s “Warrior Training Alliance” Team in December 2007 to provide operations, maintenance, systems integration and engineering support services for Army Live, Virtual and Constructive Training and Related Systems. This contract has a 1 year Base Period and nine 1 year Option Periods for a total of 10 years. The ceiling on the contract is $11.2 Billion. All DOD and federal agencies are authorized to use this contract vehicle. In February, Capstone received an invitation by Raytheon to join their Warrior Training Alliance Team. Originally a member of the Alliance as a designated vendor for their bid to the Government, this action cemented our partnership for the next ten years.
Capstone on Winning U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command Contract Advisory and Assistance Services II (CAAS II) Team
(Aug 07) The Department of Air Force awarded Capstone's teammate, Northrop Grumman TASC, one of four large business contracts to provide Headquarters, Air Combat Command and its subordinate bases with contracted advisory and assistance services. This contract allows Northrop Grumman and its teammates to compete for task orders to provide management and professional services; conduct studies, analyses and evaluations; and conduct engineering and technical services. The contract was awarded for a base year and four option periods. This win is significant because Capstone was a major teammate with Northrop Grumman on the original CAAS contract, and is performing work under the current CAAS contract. This win by our team ensures that we can continue to compete for both existing and new work. Bob Brich, Director, Mission Systems Division, will manage this contract for Capstone.
Capstone Member of Winning Team to Provide Support to Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force
(Jul 2007) Capstone Corporation, as a member of the Stanley Associates, Inc. Team, was awarded one of four contract awards to support the Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force, located on the Commander, Fleet Forces Command Compound in Norfolk, VA. This contract will require Capstone to provide support services for independent research, technical and analytical support to Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force in the definition, conduct and analysis of structured operational and integrated test and evaluation of a vast array of weapons systems, integrated systems and equipment to support the fleet sailor. This contract has a base year and four option years, and is a multiple award contract vehicle that will allow Capstone to compete for task orders issued by the customer. Bob Brich, Director, Mission Systems Division, will manage this effort for Capstone.
Capstone Awarded Prime Contract in Support of U.S. Joint Forces Command
(Nov 06) Capstone was awarded a prime contract in support of U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) to provide special studies, analysis and program support for the Headquarters and its subordinate joint activities. Specifically, this contract requires Capstone to support the following functional areas: strategic planning; Command Engagement Program support; joint operations center planning, management and operational support; transformation initiative support; specialized studies and assessments; logistics support; Command Information Program support; program management; manpower and civilian personnel program support; specialized Command, Control, Communications and Computer support; and other functional areas that enhance the execution of USJFCOM’s mission. Capstone will execute this contract with the assistance of the following teammates: Northrop Grumman TASC, Battelle Memorial Institute and MPRI, Inc. The contract was awarded for a base year and four option years, and has a total value worth of $27.5 Million, the largest single award to Capstone Corporation since its incorporation in 1986. This contract will be managed by Mr. Bob Brich, Director, Mission Systems Division.
Capstone on Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems Corporation Joint Support Team Awarded Joint Warfighting Center Contract
(Sep 2006) Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems Team was awarded a six year, $686,108,614.00 contract to provide technical services in support of the U.S. Joint Forces Command Joint Warfighting Center joint training, exercise and rehearsal program. Capstone is a tier 1 teammate to Northrop Grumman and will provide both operational and technical support. Capstone will help the U.S. Joint Forces Command Joint Warfighting Center execute its role as the Joint Force Trainer and related responsibilities for Training Transformation; establishing and managing a Joint National Training Center Capability; Joint Modeling and Simulation Management; Capabilities Development and Assessment; Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence; Crisis Rehearsals; Exercise and Event Planning Execution; Enabling Functions; and Facility Operations. Capstone Member of SAIC Team Awarded Five Year Contract to Support U.S. Joint Forces Command’s Joint Fires Integration and Interoperability Team (JFIIT)
(July 2006) The Fleet and Industrial Center (FISC), Norfolk Contracting Department announced the award of a five year contract to the SAIC Team to provide technical support, engineering integration, installation, testing, documentation, training, operation and maintenance of JFIIT data collection and analysis capabilities. JFIIT’s mission is to investigate, assess and improve the integration, interoperability and operational effectiveness of joint fires and combat identification. They execute this mission by developing, testing, implementing and training joint capabilities designed to improve the effectiveness of joint fires as well as improve combat identification of both friendly forces and targets to improve target identification and reduce fratricide. Capstone will assist SAIC in testing, exercising and assessing capabilities and processes designed to meet JFIIT’s charter. Bob Brich, Director, Mission Systems Division, will mange Capstone’s support of this effort.
Capstone Awarded Contract to Build Aircraft Carrier Landing Simulator
(June 2006) On June 8, 2006, Capstone was awarded a contract by the Navy Refractive Surgery Center to build a high-resolution Night Aircraft Carrier Landing Simulator. The simulator will be used to test the ability of aircrew to detect and identify vertical and horizontal deviations from the optimal glide slope and glide path on landing approaches to aircraft carriers both before and after refractive surgery. This is a landmark contact award for Capstone in that it is the first prime contract award to Capstone to build a Simulator. Bruce Betschart, Capstone’s Director of Modeling and Simulations, will be the Project Manager to deliver this simulator to the Navy Refractive Surgery Center by October 8, 2006.
