SENIOR DIRECTOR, ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS SOLUTIONS

Chris Bahret was named senior director of business development for Capstone Corporation’s Enterprise Systems Solutions (ESS) Business Unit in October 2011. In this role, he spearheads ESS capture strategy for new business within federal civilian agencies. Chris brings more than 20 years of business development, program management, operations and leadership in the federal business sector.

Prior to joining the Capstone team, Chris was Vice President of Operations/Business Development for Sayres and Associates, in Washington, DC. Among his accomplishments, Chris developed and implemented a high-performance, goals-oriented organization, processes, and tools for marketing, business capture, strategic partnering, proposal development and contracts start-up, and established a regulatory-compliant and customer service-oriented HR organization for recruiting, personnel management, and benefits administration. During his tenure, Sayres grew from approximately $8M to $35M in annual revenue. Under Chris’s leadership, Sayres’ program performance was recognized with the 2007 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Small Business Achievement Award and 2009 Maritime Administration (MARAD) Small Business of the Year Award for excellence in program management and customer service.

Chris’s 20+ years of experience in the federal business sector includes serving in various capacities for BAE Systems and their legacy companies. He was Director of Business Development for Naval Programs within the Customer Solutions Operating Group, where he was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, corporate teaming arrangements, and communication campaigns for Programs within the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Chris started in federal technical support services providing program and engineering management for U.S. Navy AEGIS and Amphibious Ship Acquisition programs. Chris was awarded the Navy’s AEGIS Excellence Award in recognition of his contributions to planning and managing complex Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) ship overhauls. Chris began his professional career as Production Manager and Operating Engineer with Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Baltimore Marine Division.

Chris is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Systems Engineering. He and his wife, Jenny, have two children – Chris and Elizabeth.
